This multifaceted Balearic island has more to offer than bars and nightclubs, so finding the perfect spot is key. Whether you’re seeking to enjoy the nightlife with days spent on the beach, a peaceful villa escape with a private swimming pool and stunning views, a family-friendly retreat, or something in between, there is sure to be an area that feels just right for you. So, let’s dive into some of the best places to stay in Ibiza, each with its own identity and that certain something special.
Let’s start with the polar opposite of what a typical Ibiza party destination can be like and introduce you to the picturesque village of Es Cubells.
This tiny hamlet on a quiet, southwest corner of the island is a mere 25 minute drive from Ibiza Town and the journey itself is simply breathtaking. Well known for its peace and tranquillity and for some, its spiritual vibe, Es Cubells is steeped in religious history and home to the famous church ‘Església de Sant Josep de sa Talaia’ and the local convent of The Teresian Sisters’ (another significant landmark). Many travel to this particular area of Ibiza to avoid the crowds and to take in the spectacular views.

Cala Nova Beach, next to Es Cana resort
Situated on the east of the island, this small but lively resort town is a really fun place to spend your holiday. It’s one of the best areas to stay in Ibiza, whether you’re travelling as a couple, family or with friends, there is certainly something here to tick all the boxes. Although high-spirited, Es Caná, or Es Canar, is less party-focused and boasts a crescent-shaped sandy beach and crystal clear waters that are shallow enough for younger children and less confident swimmers.
One of Ibiza’s most famous towns, located on the western coast, a short twenty minute drive from the airport, is a truly magical place filled with a little something for everyone but better known for what it does best – parties!

Cala Comte Beach
This breathtaking area is a true gem on the west of the island and possibly one of the most photographed beaches in Ibiza due to its natural beauty. Once you get here, it’s not hard to see why it’s known for being one of the nicest parts of Ibiza.
Even if you’re not staying close by to this quaint village, we recommend it as a must-stop for a day out. Located along the road between Ibiza Town and San Antonio, this peaceful oasis is home to a host of historical sites. Wander through the cobblestoned village, famous for being particularly artistic and with an array of restaurants and beautiful artist shops; tourists can enjoy a refreshing ice cream, a scenic stroll and even purchase original works from local art sellers. There are some excellent dining options here too, with the modest Can Pilot being particularly well known for it’s Ibizan dishes and speciality meats grilled to perfection on hot coals.
Villa Bamboo, San Rafael, Ibiza
Figueretas Beach, Ibiza
Bordered by a long stretch of white beach, tall palms and flat promenade, this vibrant little area truly evokes that Mediterranean holiday feeling. The fastest way to get to this small suburb of Ibiza Town is by taxi which takes no more than 10 minutes and will cost around 25 Euros but there is also an easy and affordable direct bus service. Attracting all types of visitors, from fitness fanatics to daytime sun worshippers, Figueretas caters to everyones needs. You can enjoy some of the island’s most incredible sunsets from here. Some of the local bars serve cocktails on the beach so why not take in the remarkable views, admiring Formentera and Dalt Vila directly from your sun bed.
