When to visit Portugal

Portugal is mild and sunny all year round and has a particularly long summer season with toasty warm temperatures from April to September. In the Algarve, the average maximum temperature is 28 degrees Celsius in the summer with 12 hours of daylight and a dry heat. Average temperatures are only slightly lower on the Lisbon Coast, and it enjoys a welcome breeze in the hottest summer months.

Driving from Lisbon to the Algarve has never been easier with the journey taking a leisurely two and a half hours.
